SUMMARY:IoT Smart Irrigation System
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nIoT Smart Irrigation System for Refugee Communities\nTh
 e IoT Smart Irrigation System is a low-cost\, technology-driven solution t
hat helps small-scale farmers optimize water usage. Using a soil moisture
sensor\, this system detects moisture levels in the soil and automates irr
igation based on real-time data. It is particularly useful in refugee sett
lements where access to water is limited\, ensuring crops receive just the
right amount of water needed for healthy growth while preventing wastage.
\n\nHow It Works\nParticipants will connect a soil moisture sensor to an A
rduino or ESP8266/ESP32 microcontroller\, which reads soil moisture levels
and displays the data. If the soil is dry\, the system can trigger a smal
l water pump (or send an alert via a mobile app or SMS) to irrigate the cr
ops.\n\nHands-on Activities\n\n Sensor Setup: Connect the soil moisture s
ensor to an Arduino/ESP8266 and test readings.\n Data Monitoring: Display
real-time moisture data on an LCD screen or web dashboard.\n Automation
Demo: Simulate irrigation by activating a small pump when moisture is low.
\n Discussion: Explore how this system can improve food security\, water
 conservation\, and climate-smart farmingin refugee settlements.\n\nThis in
teractive session will introduce participants to IoT for agriculture\, emp
owering them with practical skills to enhance sustainable farming.\n\n\n\n
