SUMMARY:Interview with Tom De Block (AIOTI): The European WEB3 Accelerator
 and beyond
DESCRIPTION:The Alliance for IoT and Edge Computing Innovation (AIOTI) is a
nnouncing the launch of its WEB3 Accelerator.\nWEB3 is the Distribute Ledg
er Technology (DLT) enabled data and security infrastructure for the next
generation internet and it will be the basis for a new user-centric and sa
fer digital environment for generations to come.\nThe next generation inte
rnet using WEB3 will be more efficient and decentralized offering new pers
pectives for individuals\, industry and climate action.\nThe optimized Clo
ud-Edge-IoT computing “continuum” will be made possible by DLT at the
speed of a checksum.\nHow this next generation internet using WEB3 looks a
 like?\n•People browsers and Cloud-Edge-IoT devices have wallets\n•Wall
ets are secure connections to the distributed ledger\n•DLT provides Data
integrity and data ownership\n•DLT brings trust and enables the computi
ng Continuum\n•DLT enables automated in browser micropayments and micro-
business models\nHow does the WEB3 Accelerator work?\n•WEB3 focus groups
  for Media\, Authorities\, Industry\, Education and Convergence\n•Task F
orce and events coordinated by AIOTI\n•DLT Testbeds – use case demonst
rators (catalogue of solutions)\n•DLT Performance and Energy Efficiency
 (test results – report)\n•DLT-IoT-AI Convergence (report)\n•Regulato
ry Sandboxes\n•Hackathon in Brussels (end of September)\n•Users activa
tion on the demonstrators\nHackathon winners and Accelerator results will
be presented at the AIOTI Signature Event on 10 October 2023 and continue
in 2024 with expected open calls during the Belgian EU presidency.\nIn col
laboration with:  UNLOCK CEI\, INATBA\, Climate Chain Coalition and Essex
University\nLeading AIOTI members: Tom De Block (Nearcom) and Alfredo Fav
 enza (Links Foundation)\nFor any media inquiry\, please contact:\nSimona R
 omeo\, Senior Policy\, Comms &amp\; Projects Adviser – simona@aioti.eu\n
