  • To give university students an opportunity to experience and build relevant projects in IoT.
  • Act as role models to girls from upper primary and secondary schools on how they use technology as a tool for problem-solving.

Description.

In this activity, GoGirls ICT Initiative is planning a training that will span for a period of three days. The targeted 10 female university students will be trained on the basics of Internet of Things (IoT) and become mentors to girls from upper primary and secondary schools within Juba. The mentors will come up with products that they will showcase at the “Career Day fair”  scheduled for 21st April, where they will build and rebuild these products together with the students as they interact, ask questions, and have hands-on experience.

This activity is anchored on International Girls in ICT Day, an International Telecommunication Union (ITU) global initiative that takes place every year on the 4th Thursday of April. It aims to encourage young women and girls to pursue careers and studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics #STEM, particularly ICT.

This activity is made possible with support from the National Communication Authority – NCA in South Sudan.
