IoT Day Rotterdam. Powers of Ten: “Responsible systems for people and things”
According to the Powers of Ten, everything is a part and a collection of something else. Thus everything is connected to everything else. By thinking in terms of separate domains and systems, we do not do justice to the complexity of reality, in which all these systems interact. Societal challenges such as energy transition, the circular economy, the climate crisis, health and welfare and socially resilient cities cannot be captured within a single domain. If we want to find future-proof solutions for the challenges of our time, we will have to combine our knowledge of different systems. Now that digitalisation has penetrated all domains and the Internet of Things connects everything with everything, we are seizing the opportunity to gain more insight into the complexity and initiate the desired changes.
The programme of Internet of Things Day 2022 consists of five content tracks: Healthcare Technology, Natural & Built Environment, Economy, Media & Culture and Smart & Social City. Each track consists of several programme components. You can choose to ‘shop around’ between the tracks. In addition to the regular programme, this year we are once again organising a hackathon: the chance to spend a day working on a cool IoT problem with people from various disciplines. Innovation, creativity, technology and a lot of fun are guaranteed.
